Success with PondGard EPDM geomembrane lining applications has led Firestone Building Products to expand into the Reinforced Polypropylene segment of the business with the introduction of our newest liner, MultiLiner RPP (Reinforced Polypropylene).
Polypropylene
Polypropylene is a chemically inert polymer. It does not contain any post reactor modifiers that can be extracted over time or cause a negative impact on the surroundings. The membrane is based on a UV-stabilized polypropylene copolymer, which does not require either polymeric or liquid plasticizers to maintain flexibility. Polypropylene's molecular structure has been modified to achieve the following characteristics:

Reinforced Polypropylene
Firestone MultiLiner RPP is a reinforced polypropylene membrane quite similar to the roofing thermoplastics used throughout the world. MultiLiner RPP takes the physical properties inherent in polypropylene and enhances them by inserting a strong, polyester fabric (scrim). The scrim is encapsulated between the polypropylene-based top and bottom plies. The combination of the fabric and polypropylene gives MultiLiner RPP its extremely high breaking/tearing strength and puncture resistance.
MultiLiner RPP is ideal for geomembrane applications because of its strength, heat welded seams, and long-term durability in both subsurface and exposed geomembrane applications. It has the following desirable characteristics:
