Alberta Anaerobic Digesters
Download: PDF Alberta Anaerobic Digesters
Location: Alberta, Canada
Project Principals: Highmark Renewables & Alberta Research Council
Scope of Project: Selected for its flexibility and expandability, Firestone EPDM geomembrane was used to house methane gas, for short periods of time, at the top of the digesters. The digesters use anaerobic digestion to produce biogas from manure, which is then used to create electricity and heat, produce bio-based fertilizer, develop pathogen-free and biodegradable consumer products and produce water to irrigate crops.
Project Size: One 50’ x 50’ panel was used on each of the two anaerobic digesters.
Geomembrane: 60 mil (1.52 mm) Firestone EPDM Geomembrane
